I have decided to do my research paper on the history of snowboarding and how it has revolutionized in to what it is today. In the process of brainstorming on a good topic for this essay my friend was sitting next to me reserving vacation plans for a snowboarding trip. I am an avid snowboarder and i have never really thought anything of the history of the sport, within five minutes of research i learned a ton of new things I never knew about. It is one of the fastest growing extreme sports for pleasure and professionally and its only been around for around fifty years. This topic is something that really sparks my interest because there is a lot to talk about when it comes to the sport and how it has changed over the time and why it is so popular.I also have a real passion for the sport myself and this will motivate me to go more this year. Though it seems like a simple topic and it is, I believe it will be very informative for those who know nothing about the sport and it may peak peoples interest to give it a try. Best of all there is so much information on the topic. My main resources will be books on the invention it self, old advertisements, and testimonials from pioneers of the sport from origin to now.During the couse of this paper i will start from the first day snowboarding was introduced to the world where there were only a handful of people doing the sport to now where you even see toddlers on miniature versions riding down the slope. I will also adress its effect on the economy of certain areas and how it has created a sub culture most people dont even know is there.
